You do have to install the whole stand alone version for the plugin to work of course. If you pay up and register it, then you get a license key and the VST plugin will work. If needed, you can make Finale send sync information over MIDI (MMC/MTC) and slave other hosts. You would not really need rewire at all.just bypass the Finale host altogether. Without the plugin variant, then you'd use Finale in MIDI Mode, set up some loopMIDI virtual ports, and let Bidule host plugins and access the audio card(s). ![]() Other than that, it is fully functional, with rewire support and the whole nine yards. The free version does NOT work as a plugin. You can try Bidule for free until Plogue decides to void that 'trial release'. When they say it is only for "registered users", does that mean I cannot test my configuration without purchasing the product? I believe that I need the plug-in version to do the configuration I described above. Make sure to install and register the standalone version before attempting to use the plug-in version." On the free trial page, there are two products listed:Īnd the Plug-in has this note: "** The plug-in version of Bidule will only work for registered users. That simply says "Plogue Bidule (early bird license)" and has a price of $95. On the purchase page, there is only one product listed. I am confused by the Bidule free trial page. I would use Bidule to route each of those MIDI streams to appear as MIDI input ports on my DAW and then connect to synths as usual for the DAW.ĭo I have that right, or is there some way to run this ReWire relationship through Bidule? This would sent MIDI to Bidule, separately for each Finale staff. Within Finale, I can add the Bidule VSTi as the playback device for each Finale staff. In other words, there is a direct DAW-to-Finale ReWire relationship (not passing through Bidule), correct? At this stage, Bidule is not involved at all. My DAW will be in control of the playback. At that point I can open my Finale score. If I understand it, I would open my DAW and add a Finale Rewire device. Can anybody offer any guidance how one goes about accomplishing this synchronization with Bidule? I don't believe that Finale can drive the playback. I would like the DAW playback to be synchronized with Finale in case I want to add some DAW tracks that are not in the Finale score. ![]() I hope people will share tips, advice, and experience on this thread.īidule is available here, including a free trial: I expect that in this particular setting, Bidule will be mostly a "virtual patch panel", i.e. Bidule can do much more than that, but I would like to focus on the application of integrating Finale 25 with the DAW of your choice. It has been suggested that the Bidule product from Plugue can overcome most or all of the above issues, allowing Finale 25 to be tightly integrated with a DAW, including synchronized playback using ReWire. ![]() These limitations add up to a function that looks good on paper, but basically cannot do much useful in the real world. Unfortunately, it seems that when running in ReWire mode, Finale stops transmitting the MIDI data LoopBE and LoopMIDI) that provide a way for Finale to pass the separate MIDI tracks to a DAW.
